a second chance to correct and live?

she almost took her own life.
the very woman who is always watching over us, kids.

scolding us for what we thought for no good reason, hitting us seemed like an excuse to give her frustration an outlet, yet at the very end of the day... she is the one who's hurt most.

we were this close to losing this very woman we Love,

our mom.

I do not want to lose

  • "Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it." -H. Jackson Brown, Jr. in "Life's Little Instruction Book"
  • "All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another." --Anatole France

In memories of 9/11

"September 11 was, and remains, above all an immense human tragedy. But September 11 also posed a momentous and deliberate challenge not just to America but to the world at large. The target of the terrorists was not only New York and Washington but the very values of freedom, tolerance and decency which underpin our way of life." ~ Tony Blair

Apple: things that you may want to know

  • Apart from nano -- which, as a replacement for the best-selling iPod mini, is a major move for the company -- Apple's cupboard is fairly bare. It is a low point in the product cycle, with much of the behind-the-scenes work focusing on the Intel-based computers due next summer. But new iPods are on the way, and Jobs promises "a lot of new things in the pipeline".

This relative downtime is giving Jobs a chance to promote Apple itself, and the company's wider beliefs. It is an important time: while the long-standing computer business remains just as important as the newer focus on music -- he wonders whether anyone would ask which of his children was more important to him -- it is clear that Apple is changing.

Lifestyle brand

At the centre of it all, Apple is now a lifestyle brand, rather than a technology company. Each iPod comes inscribed with the words "designed in California", a seemingly throwaway statement that gives a fundamental insight into the company's outlook.

The message is straightforward: we are innovators, we are cool, we are friendly. It's an extended new age mantra that betrays Apple's west coast roots and has proved crucial to its image -- both good and bad -- over the years.

SHREWD POLITICIAN

"Music companies make more money when they sell a song on iTunes than when they sell a CD," Jobs says. "If they want to raise prices, it's because they're greedy. If the price goes up, people turn back to piracy -- and everybody loses."

all in a day's work

now i really wished i had completed my NS.
was actually invited by this managing director to work with him back in Sri Lanka, they are having an Apple Outlet back there. *sweet
not to make a mountain of a molehill, he's just an owner of a store back there but hey... i got complimented on my service!! Whats up!!!

anyway, that aside...
well I had Desmond of Electrico as my customer today and errr... Fiona Xie too.
Whats up with 'em shadeys on a rainy/freezy cold thursday afternoon, la bomba?

She was lookin to have her hard-disk space increased.
She was actually askin if it could be done up in a day cos she doesn't want to leave it here, overnight.
So I told her it'd most probably take a couple of days to get it done up and meanwhile, suggested that she should back up her files CD form and send her IBOOK 12" back in.

Gee... I can give me my SUPERDRIVE 17". hahahaha. She should be back again soon to get her stuff done and one more thing, she's lookin for a nano, so guys out there... u know what to do. hahaha.
C r a z y f uck s.....

Anyone willing to rip 400 songs from an ipod 20GB to a computer (itunes), rip 20more albums and add them all back into ipod nano 4GB???
------Customer of mine is offering me $100 minimum to get that done in a day or two.
------I would do it for him for free, but he insist on paying...then again, i cant afford the time.

contemplating.

ipod NANO NANO NANO NANO NANO NANO

  • 2GB: SGD$348 (black/white)
  • 4GB: SGD$438 (black/white)

i am contemplating if i should buy at all and if i do so, would it be white? wished i could have both. FUCK!

personally i think its overpriced. sony just launched on thursday, a day after apple launched its newest. in time to come, the price for nano is going to fall. and soon, the birth of video intelligence will hit the stores... it doesnt get any better than that, does it? maybe a phone as slim as the nano with vid-capability?!!

sony's walkman.

Jobs calls the iPod nano "an entirely new ground-up design, that also has 1000 songs in your pocket." The white device features a color display and can support photos, uses a grey click wheel to navigate, and is 80 percent smaller in volume than the original iPod -- thinner than a number two pencil, said Jobs. The iPod nano weighs 1.5 ounces or 42 grams.

Compared to the iPod mini, the iPod nano is half the thickness and 62 percent smaller by volume. It uses a 30-pin dock connector, so the iPod nano plugs in to existing iPod accessories, and can also connect using USB 2.0. It features a 14-hour rechargeable battery. It achieves its small size by eschewing a hard disk drive in favor of flash memory.

The iPod nano also features a new graphical clock, games, stopwatch and lap timer, and a screen lock that uses the click wheel like a combination lock.

"White is our signature color for the iPod ... but we decided to so a second color, and we tried it because it looked so cool," said Jobs, "so we're doing a black model as well."

The iPod nano ships today in 2GB and 4GB configurations for US$199 and $249 respectively. Apple is also offering customized iPod nano accessories including a $29 dock, $39 lanyard with built-in headphones, color-coordinated armbands for $29 each, and "nanotubes" -- green, purple, blue and pink slipcases, sold in boxes of five, for $29 each.

a few seconds worth to learn something of value

before i leave for work, I would like to share this self-reflection statement.

"Why Worry? If you worry - you die. If you don't worry - you'll still die. So why worry?"

first day of work was tiresome, 11hrs of standing. talking, i was talking the whole damn day man.
"Good afternoon Sir, how could I be of any help?"
Customers would say "I am just looking."
bloody fuck, i never said i was blind. I CAN SEE THAT YOU ARE LOOKING. I CAN SEE THAT YOU LOOK LIKE A FUCKED UP RETRENCH. Damn it, you have been standing there trying to figure out the Ibook(laptop) for the past 1 to 2mins. You WERE damn well trying for figure out the keyboard. Yes, the keyboard is white. Yes, ibooks are only in white, everybody can see that. Do you want a pink one? I can get it for you, just let me get some help from miss "hello kitty".

and lil teenage boy you seem to know everything, tech-savvy eh? I wonder what you use the net for these days, gaming 24/7?
You don't come to an Apple booth, where you fucking know we only have Ipods/ishuffles for mp3 players. We don't have i-river. If you insist we have, maybe you would like to point out where the fuck you got that information from?
Excuse me, do you have iriver?
-Pardon me, I what? Sorry young gentlemen, please refer to the showcases, and here's the brochure.
I already have the brochure. But they are not showing any Irivers?
-There is no Irivers here at Apple.
You mean you're out of stock?
-We do not have Irivers.
When would the new stock be arriving? Tomorrow?

Kids, you don't go to a drink store and ask "Auntie, could I have 2 plates of Carrot Cake?" Please, give me some hope...and tell me that you don't do things like that.
